Middleton Place

Wind your way down live oak canopied roads draped with Spanish moss to Middleton Place, a registered National Historic Landmark and the plantation home of the Middleton family since 1741. Stroll through the magnificent Formal Gardens (the oldest in America) laid out by Henry Middleton in 1741, and explore the stable yards, a living outdoor museum, where the story of life on an 18th century plantation is told with animals, artifacts, and craft exhibits. Tour the remaining wing of the Middleton House funished with heirlooms from the Middleton family and enjoy a delicious luncheon in the Middleton Place Pavilion.

Lunch at Middleton Place: A delicious buffet lunch is served in the Middleton Place Pavilion including field greens salad with Middleton Vinaigrette, okra soup, fried chicken, plantation chicken salad, hickory smoked barbeque pork, collard greens, Hoppin' John, corn pudding, pecan pie, freshly baked corn bread, and buttermilk biscuits.
